Global Fund for Children:
The reason why I pick global fund for Children because they reach out to all nations to help children of all ages. They not only raise money to education but they build character and confidence in these children. Children from all over the world are able participate in so many programs and events because of the Global Fund for Children.
Regions they support:
Millions of children around the world are born into a stark reality: will they work in markets and mines, or go to school? Will they be trafficked into slavery, or be free? Will they be child soldiers, or students? These are staggering choices no child should face. At The Global Fund for Children, we transform the lives of children on the edges of society—trafficked children, refugees, child laborers—and help them regain their rights and pursue their dreams. In other words, we do all we can to let kids be kids—no matter what their circumstances. Since 1997, we’ve reached 8 million children worldwide.

I enjoyed reading your post and I can't wait to learn more about Egypt
ReplyDeleteI know it's difficult to get of hold of other countries. I tried so many and they never responded back to me and some the email was wrong. I contacted Mexico because I had visit some preschools and I kept the directors name and she helped me get in contact. China responded they were going to send me more information. I contacted many more hopefully I will have luck in more responds. Great post!
Darrell,
DeleteHello, I believe you will have a wonderful organization to follow the Global Fund for Children seems like such a positive and uplifting program for children. I have read some documentaries of children of Egypt being traffiked and used as slaves. It was so hard to belief that this sort of thing is being practiced in today's world. Shockingly, it is higher today than previously many, many years ago. (Scholastic)
Hi Darrell,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post. How amazing is it that you had a friend you could call upon to help you out as difficult as it may have been to contact other countries.
Darrell-
ReplyDeleteI think it's truly awe inspiring that you know people in Egypt and can connect with them. At first, I was thinking that this course would be more on child care issues, but see that there are other issues that effect children without being in child care. Our children deserve so much better than what we are providing!
Darrell,
ReplyDeleteHow exciting. I can't wait to hear more of your exchange with Mia. I think its so important that as early childhood practitioners that we are globally aware of what is going with children and their families all around the world. I think that global awareness is a reminder of humanity. I enjoyed reading your post!
